Iva Kruckeberg, 75, Sioux Falls
Iva Kruckeberg passed away Jan. 3, 2023 three days after her husband of 57 years, Bruce Kruckeberg. She was 75 years old.
Iva Marlene Wood was born to Charles and Carrie Wood in Albert Lea, on Feb. 3, 1947. Iva was the middle child of five children.
Iva attended country school near Blooming Prairie. She attended Blooming Prairie High School graduating in June 1965. On Dec. 4 of the same year, she and Bruce Kruckeberg were married. To this union were born two daughters, Wendy and Laurie. Their family relocated to Marshall in 1974 when Bruce accepted a job in Marshall.
Iva worked as a front desk administrative assistant/receptionist for Wells Fargo Bank in Marshall for over 30 years. She was active in bowling and softball.
In 2006, Bruce and Iva moved to Sioux Falls to be closer to the girls and their families.
Survivors include: daughters Wendy (Jon) Geistfeld of Rapid City, S.D., and Laurie (Brad) Auch of Sioux Falls; grandchildren Matt Geistfeld (Sioux Falls), Carrie (Matt) Schaefers of Harrisburg, S.D., Adam (Megan) Geistfeld of Rapid City, Lyndsey Stekl, Taylor Stekl, Alec Stekl, Brooklyn Stekl, and Sydni Auch, all from Sioux Falls; six great-grandchildren (Melani, Colton, Nora and Weston Schaefers, Maddy and Lainey Convery); brother Paul Wood of Austin, sister-in-law Julie Wood, numerous nieces and nephews.
Iva was preceded in death by her mother and father, brothers Dean Wood, and John Wood, a nephew, Mike Schulz, sister, Irene Schulz, brother-in-law, Vic Schulz, sister-in-law, Avis Wood.
A memorial for both Bruce and Iva will be held later in 2023.
In lieu of cards, Bruce and Iva requested any memorials be sent to St. Jude’s Hospital.
