Janet Sargent, 80, Owatonna

Janet Ann Sargent was born Feb. 7, 1941. She died of cancer on June 17, 2021 at the Homestead Hospice House. 
Janet was born to James and Evelyn Karaus. She was born and raised in the Ellendale area, and graduated from Ellendale High School in 1958.    
She worked various jobs. Janet married Dale Larson in 1962. They later divorced. She married Mike Sargent in 1994. He preceded her in death in 2002.     
She is survived by two sons: Kody (Jessica) Larson, Ellendale and Dean Larson, Faribault; three grandsons: Jeff Larson, Amos Larson, and Drew Larson. She is also survived by two step-sons: Matt Sargent of Rapid City, S.D. and Mark Sargent, Stillwater and their families. Also surviving is a brother, Jim Karaus, Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; a sister Jackie (Eddie) Winzenburg, Owatonna and sister-in-law, Judy Karaus, Owatonna.       
Janet was preceded in death by her husbands, parents, James and Evelyn Karaus, brother Jerry Karaus, and daughter-in-law Joyce Larson.
A Memorial Service was held at St.John Church, Owatonna, on June 22. Interment was at Memorial Gardens, Owatonna.
