Janette Gallea, 88, Medford
Janette Mae Gallea, 88, of Medford, passed away on Oct. 16, 2025, surrounded by family.
Visitation will be held on Oct. 20, 2025, from 5-7 p.m. at Medford Funeral Home, 310 East Central Ave. Funeral service will take place Oct. 21, 2025, at 11a.m. at the Congregational United Church of Christ in Medford, 211 S. Main St. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the funeral service at Meadow Ridge Memorial Cemetery, Faribault.
Janette was born Aug. 23, 1937, to William and Helen (Almendinger) Klapperich and graduated from Faribault High School in 1955. She married Duane Gallea in September of 1965.
She worked at Ochs Department Store and later at Truth Hardware until retirement. She and Duane enjoyed traveling, camping with family and friends, cheering on Medford School teams, and were longtime members of a close-knit card club.
Janette was active in the Medford Civic Club and a devoted member of the Congregational United Church of Christ, where she served as treasurer and participated in Women’s Fellowship.
She is survived by her sister Elaine (Vern) Calder; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews; sisters-in-law Rosemary Gallea, Virginia Grass, Judy (Tom) Beriou, and Helen Vardamen, and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her husband Duane; parents William and Helen; brother Wayne Klapperich; sister-in-law Joyce Kelm; and brothers-in-law Eugene Gallea and Francis Grass.
