Jose C. Olivo, 61, Blooming Prairie

Jose “Joseph” C. Olivo, 61, died Saturday morning, Aug., 11, 2018, in Blooming Prairie.    
Joe Olivo was born March 10, 1957 in San Marcos, Texas, the son of Willie and Ysabel (Cervantes) Olivo. In 1975, Joe graduated from Blue Earth High School. On Aug. 25, 1978, he was united in marriage to Carrie Jean Ogilvie at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Blue Earth. The couple moved to Blooming Prairie in 1986.  
Joe was employed by TafCo in Blue Earth as a welder, at McNelius in Dodge Center, and then settled at Metal Services in Blooming Prairie. His passion was music.  He was the lead singer and rhythm guitarist in the Rambone Band for 44 years. Joe enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and attending their many events. In his free time, he enjoyed singing in his band, fishing and watching Bigfoot on television with his grandkids. Joe will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his children, Candace (Joseph) Roush of Owatonna, Kartina (Ryan) Staska of Blooming Prairie, Kristin (Tom McEldowney) Olivo of Bixby; son, Tyler Olivo of Blooming Prairie; seven grandchildren, Zoie, Averie and Grady Roush, Bradley and Levi Staska, Alexis and Landon Olivo; sisters, M. Vicki (Ken Erickson) Olivo of Owatonna, Gloria (Scott) Steele of Wells, and Catarina (Nieves) Martinez of Northfield; brothers, David Sr. (Fina) Olivo of Blue Earth, and Willie (Crystal Smith) Olivo of Fort Collins, Colo.; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Olivo of Jacksonville, Fla.; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 
Joe was preceded in death by his loving wife, Carrie Olivo on July 18, 2012; parents Willie and Ysabel (Cervantes) Olivo; stepfather Angel Cervantes; his in-laws, Roger and Leona Ogilvie; sisters, Rosa Gonzales, Mary (Richard) Gonzales, Carmel (George) Jahnke; and brother Polo Sr. Olivo.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held from 3-7 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 25, 2018, which would have been Joe and Carrie’s 40th wedding anniversary. They are now celebrating together. The celebration will be held at the Blooming Prairie Serviceman’s Club in Blooming Prairie with a short service officiated by Father Tom Niehaus at 3 p.m.
