Joyce Anderson, 76, Owatonna

Joyce Marie Anderson, 76, of Owatonna, passed away on April 11, 2026, at Prairie Cottages in Owatonna.

Joyce was born on Feb. 25, 1950, in Minneapolis, to Joseph and Gertrude (Peterson) Anderson. She attended grade school in Sparta, Wis., and later graduated from Sparta High School in 1968.

Joyce worked many years in the food processing industry, where she was involved in meat packing. She also worked as a bartender and server. She enjoyed spending time with her family and found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She especially loved collecting angel figurines and knickknack ornaments.

Joyce was married twice, first to Jim Jenness and later to Bill Venable, and later returned to using her maiden name, Anderson.

She is survived by her son, James Jenness; her daughter, Janet Kuhnes; her cherished granddaughter, Kinsley Kuhnes; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Gertrude Anderson; her brother, Robert “Bob” Anderson and his wife, Fran Anderson; and her sister, Joanne Anderson.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Highview Christiania Lutheran Church in Farmington, with Pastor Amy Johnson presiding. Friends may greet the family one-half hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
