June F. Trom, 88, Blooming Prairie

June F. Trom, age 88, of Blooming Prairie, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Feb. 14, 2016, at the Owatonna Hospital.
June Frances Underwood was born June 25, 1927, in Freeborn County, Minnesota, the daughter of Eli and Elizabeth (Wencl) Underwood.  As a lifelong resident of Blooming Prairie, she attended school in Claremont and graduated from Blooming Prairie High School in 1944.  
On July 11, 1946, June and Richard M. Trom were united in marriage.  Together they raised 10 children on the family farm. Richard passed away in April of 2000. 
Before starting her family June played accordion in a band called the Golden Aces, and also played the piano and organ.  She was a talented homemaker, sharing her gifts of baking, cooking, sewing and music with her family and friends.  She was a two-time Pillsbury Bake-Off winner.  She also worked outside of the home at Prairie Manor Nursing Home where she received loving care in her final years.  June had an incredible faith and she will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her sons Gary (Stormy) Trom, Douglas (Lawayn) Trom, and Terry (Ana) Trom, all of Blooming Prairie, Minnesota, her daughters Constance (John) Holck of Lansing, Michigan, Vicki Tischler of Eagle Lake, Minnesota, Debra Sands of Mandeville, Louisiana, Diane (Wayne) Jensen of Ellendale, Minnesota, Susan (Michael) Matthies of Rochester, Minnesota, Jodi (David) Cochlin of Owatonna, Minnesota, and Darla (Dominique) Wondra, also of Owatonna; 30 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren; her sister Lois (Ken) Winzenburg of Blooming Prairie, Minnesota, sisters-in-law Jeanette Underwood and Darlene Schmidt, both of Owatonna, Minnesota, brothers-in-law Eugene (Mary) Trom and Lowell (Evelyn) Trom, both of Blooming Prairie, Minnesota, and Kenneth (Gloria) Trom of Austin, Minnesota; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Eli and Elizabeth Underwood, her husband Richard Trom, and her brother Ronald Underwood.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 18, 2016 at St. Columbanus Catholic Church in Blooming Prairie with Father Tom Niehaus officiating.  Visitation was from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 17 at the Worlein Blooming Prairie Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.  Interment was in St. Columbanus Cemetery.
