Kenneth Lee Urbach, 76, Mantorville

Kenneth Lee Urbach, 76, of Mantorville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2019, at Fairview Nursing Home in Dodge Center.  
He was born on April 2, 1942, to Ernest and Ruth Urbach in Rochester. Upon graduating from Grand Meadow High School in 1963, Ken entered the Marine Corps.   
He married Karen Trygstad of Kasson in December 1964. Ken then proudly served his country in Vietnam as a radio electrician until 1967. Ken then returned to the Kasson-Mantorville area with his wife Karen and raised a family while working as a technician at Northwestern Bell Telephone Company of Rochester for 25 years.  He was then a janitor at Christ Lutheran Church of Byron and also at Byron Middle School until his retirement. Ken enjoyed hobby electronics and spending time with his family, especially his daughter and granddaughter.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Karen; daughter Christy Urbach (fiancé David Rayfield);  grandchild Clorice Fenstermaker; sister-in-law, Mary (Tim) Kunert of Rochester; brother-in-law, Loren (Kay) Trygstad of S.D. ; sister-in-law, Gail Urbach of Denver, Colo.; and nieces and nephews.    
Ken was preceded in death by his brothers, Marvin and Gerry and his parents Ernest and Ruth.
The funeral service for Ken will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 15, 2019 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 301 8th Ave NW, Kasson, with Pastor Nirmala Reinschmidt officiating. Visitation will be at the church one hour prior to the service. There will be no reviewal.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. John’s Lutheran Church of Kasson or Fairview Nursing Home of Dodge Center or charity of donors’ preference.
