Libbie Miller, 94, Owatonna

Libbie Miller died Monday, July 24, 2023, at Timberdale Trace in Owatonna.

Libbie was born Dec. 17,1928, the daughter of Frank and Frances (Jirele) Klecker. Libbie grew up on a farm near Litomysl. She attended district 57 rural school through eighth grade. She then attended and graduated from Blooming Prairie High School in 1947.

Libbie went to work at Federated Insurance until marrying Ernest (Ernie) J. Miller Sr. on April 25,1950. Libbie and Ernie farmed all their married life together. They raised four children: Alice (Gordon) Spinler of Bixby, Ernest Jr (Debbie) Miller, Rita (Kenneth) Fisher of rural Owatonna and Joseph (Tonia) Miller of Owatonna.

Libbie enjoyed gardening, canning, and baking all her life. Libbie previously belonged to St. Monica's Guild of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Litomysl. After moving off the farm in 1994, she joined St. Elizabeth Guild and helped with funeral lunches at Sacred Heart Church in Owatonna until 2014. Libbie will be remembered most for her strong faith and her kind heart.

Libbie is survived by three children, 10 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Libbie was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Ernest Sr., son Ernest Jr., parents Frank and Frances Klecker; brothers Alphonse, Edward (Bernadine) and Frank (Regina) Klecker; sisters Elizabeth (Albert) Rysavy, Ann (Andrew) Miller, Martha (Joseph) Pete, Marie (Raymond) Warner, and son-in-law Gordon Spinler.

Friends may greet the family on Thursday, July 27, 2023, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Brick-Meger Funeral Home. A family rosary will be recited at 4:40 p.m. prior to the visitation at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday July 28, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with visitation from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Memorials are preferred to Sacred Heart Church of Owatonna or St. Mary's School of Owatonna.
