Lorene V. Gosewisch
Lorene V. Gosewisch died Tuesday evening, Sept. 8, 2015, at Maple Manor Nursing Home after a short and sudden battle with Leukemia. She was born to Adena and J.R. Christenson in Blooming Prairie on Jan. 3, 1925. Lorene began a 35 year career with Prudential Insurance Company in the Twin Cities. She later moved to Mankato where she met and married her husband Edgar Gosewisch and was an auxiliary member of the American Legion. In 1968 they moved to Rochester, and Edgar went on to work for Olmsted County for 18 years. Lorene loved animals, especially dogs. She also enjoyed reading, playing Solitaire, doing crossword puzzles and camping at Beaver Trails Campground. She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, wheat farmer Robert Christenson of Hayfield, accountant Mildred Christenson of Minneapolis, WWII Veteran Arnold Christenson who stormed the beaches of Normandy, and her dear sister Helen Nett also of Minneapolis. She is survived by her husband, her daughter Greta Gosewisch, her sister-in-law Janet Christenson, and many wonderful cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 12, 2015, at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes. Burial will be at Blooming Prairie Cemetery in Blooming Prairie.
