Margaret Healey, 99, Owatonna

Margaret Healey, lifelong resident of Owatonna, passed away peacefully Dec. 12, 2025, at the Owatonna hospital after falling. She was 99. Margaret was born May 2, 1926, to John Healey and Alta Baumgart Healey. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Joseph Parish. Her early education was in a one room schoolhouse in Steele Center and St. Mary’s summer school, and finally, Owatonna High School from which she graduated in 1943. She then attended and graduated from Minneapolis Business Collage and went to work in the Actuarial Department at Federated Insurance for 48 years. She was a Gold Star member of the Federated Quarter Century Club, also serving as an officer. Margaret, along with her sister, traveled extensively, visiting 49 of the 50 United States, Mexico, and Canada. Her favorite trip was to Hawaii. She loved to fish and was an avid fan of the Vikings and the Twins. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her sister Alta Marie, dear friend Millie Krause, and many cousins. Memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, 2026, at Brick-Meger Funeral Home, 1603 Austin Road, Owatonna. Friends may greet the family one hour prior to the memorial service. There will a parish rosary recited at 9:15 a.m. at the funeral home.
