Marlene Nelson, 78, Owatonna

Marlene Nelson, 78, of Owatonna, sadly left us on Sunday, March 26 of natural causes.

She was born on June 25, 1944, in Waterville. She spent much of her years lobbying and being highly involved in politics as well as humanitarian needs for the homeless locally. Even though she didn’t have children of her own, she still had an entire family inherited through her husband that preceded her along with her mother and father. She was survived by five children, five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and a sister.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 10, 2023, at the Brick Meger Funeral Home, Owatonna. Friends may greet the family one-hour prior at the funeral home starting at 10:00 a.m. We invite you to make a donation to any of the local charities in her honor, in place of sending flowers.
