Marlyn E. Scholljegerdes, 90, Medford
Marlyn Scholljegerdes of rural Medford, died June 22, 2026, at Mayo Health System in Mankato. A private family funeral will take place at the Medford Funeral Home.
Born Marlyn Eugene Robert Scholljegerdes on Sept. 16, 1935, in Elysian, the son of Arthur and Martha (Roul) Scholljegerdes. He attended high school in Medford and farmed along side his father. Marlyn was drafted into the U.S. Army in July of 1958 and served his country at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, and was honorably discharged in July of 1960. After his military service, he returned to the family farm and continued to farm with his father.
He was united in marriage to Ruth Ann Johnson on June 29, 1963, in Judson, Minn. The couple took over the family farm in rural Medford and raised their four children. Marlyn was a farmer all his life. His love was the farm and everything that went with it. In addition to farming, he worked as a truck driver and had several other jobs, well into his retirement years.
Marlyn collected 2-cylinder John Deere Tractors and all of the attachments that went with them. He enjoyed family vacations, which included annual trips to Branson, Mo. In his younger years, Marlyn enjoyed motorcycling and hunting.
Marlyn is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ruth, his four children: Diane (Alan) Krenke of Faribault, Joan Scholljegerdes of Owatonna, Wayne Scholljegerdes of Claremont, and Lowell (Joette) Scholljegerdes of Medford; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Marlyn was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.
