Michael (Mike) Wayne White, 62, Medford

Mike White, 62, was born on August 17th, 1961, in Owatonna, MN, the son of Vern O. White and Patricia M. (Hudrlik) White. He passed away peacefully on September 24th, 2023, at his home in Medford, MN.

Mike graduated from OHS in 1980 and took college courses for general education and law enforcement. In his early career he worked as a flooring installer at Hudrlik Furniture, a foreman at roofing and truss companies, and a machinist. Mike also worked at “White’s Whatever” as a store manager. For the past 24 years, Mike was self-employed as a contractor and carpenter, operating Mike’s Contracting and Mike White’s Furniture Repair shop out of his home. Mike could fix just about anything and knew many tricks of the trade.

Mike loved his family and his two favorite dogs, Samantha and Jenny. He enjoyed hunting with his dogs, carving, listening to music, fishing, golfing, and lobster dinners. Mike was determined and tenacious when he had a goal. He had a unique sense of humor. He was also polite, well-liked, and had a strong faith in God. We will miss him very much, but are thankful he is with God and free from pain.

Mike was very thankful for family, friends, and Owatonna community medical staff and law officers who helped him in so many ways. They didn’t just do it out of obligation, but cared about him as a person and treated him with respect.

Mike is survived by his mother Patsy White of Owatonna, sister Susan (and Thomas) Peterson of Owatonna, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father Vern White, his brother Timothy White, and his sister Lisa Ebeling.

There will be a private gathering of close family and friends to celebrate his life. In lieu of flowers, cards to the family are welcome.
