Naomi (Sue) Ness, 72, Kasson

Naomi (Sue) Ness, 72, passed away March 13, 2017, at her home in rural Kasson.
 Naomi Sue Dee was born Oct. 28, 1944, in New Albin, Iowa, the daughter of Clinton and Esther (Dresselhaus) Dee. She attended New Albin Elementary School, graduated from New Albin High School, and got her Transcriptionist Degree from Winona College.
 Naomi Sue worked at the Mayo Clinic, O’Brien Law Firm, and had her own business transcribing medical histories for local law firms.
On April 30, 1966, she married Sterling Allen Ness at the Methodist Church in New Albin, Iowa. Naomi Sue and Sterling lived on the farm since 1970, and were married for over 50 years.
Naomi had a strong faith and was a member of the South Zumbro Lutheran Church, where she was active in its ladies circles, serving as a past president, helping with making of the celebration (125 years) cookbook, teaching Sunday School, and helping make quilts. She loved to bake, enjoyed crocheting, attending craft and garage sales, and was an avid collector of antiques and beautiful things.
Survivors include her husband, Sterling Ness; son, Timothy Ness; grandson, Coltan Ness; brother Charlie (Donna) Dee; nieces, Candie (Joel) Dylhoff; Connie (Michal) Siekierski, and Cynthia (Paul) Ziolkowski.  She was preceded in death by her parents.
A funeral service was held March 19 at South Zumbro Lutheran Church, in rural Kasson, with the Rev. Elden Simonson officiating.                 
Interment was in South Zumbro Lutheran Cemetery.  Czaplewski Family Funeral Home, Hayfield, assisted with arrangements.
