Noma Houseman, 98, formerly of Mantorville

Noma Fay Houseman of Stewartville died on Sunday, May 20, 2018 at the age of 98.
She was born on May 29, 1919 in Cayuga, N.D., to Ben & Lydia (Kramer) Zelinske. She graduated from Mantorville High School in 1937. On Oct. 14, 1944, she married Harvey Lee Houseman and they resided in Mantorville, where Noma worked at Erdman’s Grocery Store from 1957 until 1981. They moved to Stewartville in 1982.
Noma thoroughly enjoyed spending time with family, playing board games, was an excellent cook, always had a beautiful flower and vegetable garden and enjoyed birdwatching in her back yard.
She is survived by a daughter Jeanne (Doug) Ferguson, a son Donald (Janet) Houseman, six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and a great-great grandchild.  
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harvey, and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Maynard (Elaine) and Lyal (Lavonne) Zelinske.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 26 at the First Congregational Church in Mantorville with Pastor Brian Egelston officiating. Burial was at Maple Grove Cemetery in Kasson.
