OPD identifies man killed in train incident

The man who was killed after apparently being struck by a train has been identified by the Owatonna Police Department as Charles Bultman, 67, of Owatonna.

According to his obituary, Bultman was born and raised in Faribault, and had most recently worked at Cash Wise Foods in Owatonna.

He is survived by two daughters, five siblings and many other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault, with interment at Calvary Cemetery, also in Faribault.

The incident remains under investigation by the OPD, in cooperation with Union Pacific Railroad Police.

The incident was reported at 12:36 p.m. Jan. 9 at the railroad tracks near North Street and Riverside Avenue; when first responders arrived, Bultman was already dead.

The Owatonna Fire Department and Mayo Ambulance also responded to the scene.
