Owatonna firefighters tackle barn fire

Owatonna Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 7330 28 St. SE in Havana Township, Steele County.

At approximately 7 p.m. on June 4, the Owatonna Fire Department was dispatched to a barn fire. Upon firefighters’ arrival, the barn was fully engulfed in flames and the roof had collapsed.

Fire crews quickly suppressed the fire and remained on scene to monitor and extinguish any hot spots. The cause has been ruled accidental, possibly related to the weather conditions at the time of the fire. No injuries were reported.
