Paul Jeffery Polen
Paul Jeffery Polen, husband of Janell Trom Polen, passed away May 15, 2015, at 12:30 p.m.
He was born March 28, 1942, in Steubenville, Ohio. Jeff was preceded in death by his parents James and Margaret Polen and son, Jeffery Norman Polen. He is survived by his wife Janell Trom Polen; his brother, Michael (Carla) Polen; adopted sister, Barbara Brueser; daughter, Paula K. (Douglas) Bonar; and grandson Jackson Paul Bonar. He is also survived by two step-sons, Nick Kuhlmann and Scott Kuhlmann; two step-daughters, Wendy Doll and Sandi Brown; eight step-grandchildren and five great step-grandchildren.
Jeff lived in Hopedale, Ohio, where he graduated from high school. He went to college in Bowling Green, Ohio, on a football scholarship. He taught high school History for a brief period and due to the sudden death of his father he then took over the family insurance business/real estate. Jeff moved to Naples in 1985. He opened several businesses in Naples and Bonita Springs and retired in 2012. He belonged to the Bonita Springs Sons of the American Legion Squadron 303.
There will be a graveside memorial at First Lutheran Church Cemetery in Blooming Prairie at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 2, 2015. The cemetery is located on the road past the Trom family farm now owned by Becky and Mark Noble.
All family, friends and Legion/VFW family are invited to come and celebrate Jeff’s life. Following the service there will be a reception at the home of Becky and Mark Noble.
