Philip Danielson, 71, Kasson

Philip Stanley Danielson, 71, of Kasson passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, at Mayo Clinic Hospital-Saint Marys Campus on Sat., May 7 after a chronic illness.  
He was born on March 9, 1945, in Preston and grew up in Lanesboro.  He worked for Rochester City Lines for 30 years.  Phil was a kind and loving man with a unique and lively sense of humor, and he loved to make people laugh. He enjoyed taking walks and spontaneous road trips as well as watching cooking shows, which inspired him with new ideas to try.  
He was active in the Kasson Police Reserves for a period of time and held a great deal of respect for law enforcement personnel.  A long-time supporter of Paws and Claws Humane Society, Phil dearly loved the dogs that were his companions and friends throughout his life.  Most of all, he loved his family more than anything in the world.
Phil was preceded in death by his parents, Winifred and Stanley; a brother, Joe; and newborn twin sons.  He is survived by his wife Jacque of Kasson; daughter Melissa (Sean) Sullivan of Rochester; five grandchildren (Taylor, Alec, Ethan, Max, and Raina Sullivan); two sisters, Pat Johnson of Preston and Mary (David) Theiss of Spring Valley; two brothers, Paul Danielson of Rochester and David Danielson of Lanesboro.
Phil wished to pass as softly as he chose to live.  It was his wish to be cremated and to forego a memorial service.  Those wishing to make a contribution in his memory might consider a donation to Paws and Claws Humane Society in Rochester.
