Richard Albin, 81, Braham
Richard Steven Albin, 81, of Braham passed away on July 16, 2023, at his home after a 2-year battle with cancer.
Richard was born March 30, 1942, in Owatonna, the son of Willard C. & Martha D. (Abraham) Albin. He attended Owatonna Public Schools. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1960 and served for three years.
He met Joanne Thomas, and they married Nov. 2, 1963. They would have celebrated their 60th anniversary this year. They had two daughters: Annette and Cindy.
Richard was a machinist and mechanic by trade and owned several businesses. He was an avid woodworker, spending many hours creating various creations for himself and family to enjoy. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, American Legion, and was an Eagle Scout. He enjoyed nature, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, deer hunting, snowmobiling, and attending car shows. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
He is survived by wife Joanne (Thomas) Albin; daughters: Annette (Bradley) Hall and Cindy (Brian) Belkholm; grandchildren: Tiffany Ammann, Taylor (Dustin) Ostien, Morgan Ostien, Joseph Belkholm, Clarissa (Joshua) Bustrom, and Weston Dusoski; great-grandchildren: Brody Ammann, Hunter Ammann, Cooper Hammond, Gunnar Bustrom, Easton Belkholm, and Wrenley Ostien.
As Richard requested, he was cremated, and a Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2023, at Clinton Falls Township Hall, 3723 N. County Rd 45, Owatonna) with a visitation from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and service at 1 p.m. A luncheon will follow.
