Rita Ferrington, 63, Blooming Prairie

Rita G. Ferrington, age 63, of Blooming Prairie, passed away Sunday, Aug. 20, 2023, at Mayo Clinic Hospital Rochester, Methodist Campus.

Rita Gail Schweisthal was born Aug. 28, 1959, in Faribault, to Kenneth and Irene (Katra) Schweisthal. She obtained her GED and worked as an assembler for Bosch in Owatonna.

Rita loved shopping, camping, fishing, going to the casino, and spending time with loved ones. In her free time, she enjoyed making plastic canvas doll houses and furniture for the doll houses. Rita also collected Christmas Village sets and loved her Billy Joel music collection. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her children, Zebulon (Kelli) Olson of Owatonna, Zachariah (Tara) Olson of Glenville, Heather Olson of Owatonna, Ryan (Tina) Lafontaine of Blooming Prairie; step children, Bobby Ferrington and Justin Younker; many grandchildren; one great grandchild; brother, Kevin (Lois) Schweisthal of Alaska; sisters, Cathy (Dennis) Snyder of Owatonna, Maggie Nelson of Owatonna, Diane (Keith) Sexter of Owatonna.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Irene Schweisthal; husband, Daniel Joseph Ferrington; and brother, Kenneth Jerome Schweisthal Jr.
