Rita Lundin, 68, Owatonna

Rita Lundin, age 68, of Owatonna, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2024, surrounded by family.

Friends greeted the family to celebrate Rita’s life on Thursday, Feb. 22, 2024, at the Brick Meger Funeral Home in Owatonna.

Rita was born to parents Enzy and Madeline (Hyde) Stimson in Owatonna.

She graduated from Owatonna High School in 1974. Rita began a 44-year career as a scale and bookkeeper at Lundin Quarry which is now MPM Owatonna Quarry.

She was active in Owatonna Youth Hockey, scheduling games, hotels, and helping wherever she could.

Rita was very compassionate and was always placing others before her needs.

Rita is survived by husband, Jay, of 43 years; son, Lex (Katie) Gruzebeck; grandchildren, Kenzie, Axel, Hazel; one sister, Joette Louks; sister-in-law Jean Stimson; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brother Carlos; and one nephew Jeff.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family to be donated to Rita’s favorite organizations.
