Robert Meixner, 85, Owatonna

Robert “Bob” Meixner of Owatonna, died Sept. 28, 2023, at his home.

A private family service was held Thursday, Oct. 5, 2023, at Brick–Meger Funeral Home in Owatonna.

Bob was born July 29, 1938, in Owatonna, the son of Albert and Agnes (Wavrin) Meixner. Bob graduated from Owatonna High School in 1956.

He was united in marriage to Sharon Anderson on Sept. 6, 1958. The couple made their home in Owatonna where they raised their family.

Bob served in the Minnesota National Guard. He was employed throughout his life at Jostens, Ringhofer Fertilizer, and the City of Owatonna. Bob was a member of the Owatonna Elk’s.

His life interests included golfing, fishing, and walking. He also enjoyed playing cards with his buddies, and the time he spent with his grandchildren.

Bob is survived by his children Terri (George) Chapple of Owatonna; Steve (Laurie) Meixner of Waseca; and Jill (Jack Bingham) Meixner of Eden Prairie; grandchildren: Mackenzie (Brandon) Noble; Mattea Meixner; Madison (Ted) Mens; Martina Meixner; Macy Meixner; Aleah (Nick Erwin) Bingham; Avery (Abby Doris) Bingham; Harley Bingham; Elijah Chapple; and Connor (Sophia) Chapple; great-grandchildren Mila; Lucy; Darcey; Huey; and Lenny; and his brother Marvin (Beverly) Meixner.

He was preceded in death by his wife Sharon, and sister Donna Ahrens.
