Robert P. Olson, 85, Blooming Prairie

Robert P. Olson, age 85 of Blooming Prairie, passed away Saturday, Sept. 1, 2018, at Owatonna Homestead Hospice House in Owatonna. Robert Peter was born Aug. 12, 1933 in Kanabec County, Minnesota to Henry and Eunice (Houchin) Moser. He was united in marriage to Mary Jane Thorn on Dec. 10, 1955 in Northwood, Iowa. Robert was employed for 49 years with Lysne Construction of Blooming Prairie. Following his retirement, he worked several part time jobs in the area. Robert enjoyed camping and traveling, and was an avid fisherman.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary Jane of Blooming Prairie; three children Robert (Peggy) Olson of Blooming Prairie, Cheri (Dave) Klug of Blooming Prairie, Violet Lane of Austin; six grandchildren and 14 greatgrandchildren; brothers Roy (Cheryl) Olson and Harold (Billie) Moser all of Blooming Prairie; five step-children Jim (Mary) Stepan of Stillwater, David (Chris) Stepan of Stillwater, Mark (Linda) Skinner of Milaca, Matthew (Mary) Skinner of Elk River, Sue Terdan of Kentucky; by many nieces and nephews and other extended family and friends.
Memorial services were held Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2018 at Worlein Blooming Prairie Funeral Home with Pastor Thompson officiating. Interment was at the Blooming Prairie Cemetery.
