Roger Behne, 75, Owatonna, obituary

Roger Behne of Owatonna, died unexpectedly at his home on Oct. 31, 2025.

Funeral service is set for Friday, Nov. 7, 2025, at 1 p.m. at Associated Church, 800 Havana Road, Owatonna. Burial to follow at Havana Cemetery. Friends may greet the family on Thursday, Nov. 6, 2025, from 4 –7 p.m. at Brick-Meger Funeral Home, 1603 Austin Road, Owatonna. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the funeral service on Friday at the church.

Roger was born Dec. 15, 1949, in Owatonna, the son of Marvin A. and Bernice E. (Von Ruden) Behne. Roger attended country school in Havana Township and later graduated from Owatonna High School in 1967.

He started farming alongside of his father after high school. He worked in all aspects of farming, including milking and doing field work. He also worked at Carquest from 1994-2020, but continued farming.

Roger was a member of the Owatonna Eagles and Associated Church.

Roger was married to Vicki Gaylen and he inherited three stepchildren: Tommy, Angie and Melissa. The couple later divorced.

Roger’s life interests included playing board games and being around the farm. He enjoyed watching football and the Green Bay Packers.

Roger is survived by his sisters Judy (Haven) Bauer of Kenyon, and June (Donald) Fisher of Owatonna, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Marvin and Bernice, and brother Ralph.
