Ronald Edward Herzog, 83, Owatonna

Ronald Edward Herzog, age 83, of Owatonna, died on September 27, 2023, at Methodist Hospital in Rochester, MN. He was born on July 10, 1940, in Owatonna, to Bernard and Agnes (Kubat) Herzog. He attended school in Owatonna at Marion High School. Ron met Donna Jensen in high school and the two married on August 15, 1959. They had two children: Jeff and Michelle. Ron worked as a truck driver at Yellow Freight for 35 years until retirement. In retirement, Ron worked at Owatonna Parks and Recreation for 16 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, flower gardening, traveling to various destinations trips with Donna and spending time with friends and family. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 77, Owatonna Elks Lodge #1395, Owatonna Eagles 1791, and the Knights of Columbus.

Ron is survived by his wife of 64 years, Donna; son, Jeff Herzog; daughter, Michelle Cashman; six grandchildren: Jenna, Caitlin, Bryan, Haley, Hunter, and Dylan; great- grandson, Levi; sister, Linda (Lavern) Klecker; brother Kevin (Mary) Herzog; and his canine “buddy” Louie.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Duane Herzog; and sister Sharon Bolton.
