Sandra Beede, 80, Ellendale

Sandra Beede, 80, Ellendale, obituary

Sandra (Sandy) Katherine (Warner) Beede, 80, of Ellendale, passed away at her home on Sept. 26, 2025, after facing a terminal cancer diagnosis with courage and grace. She was surrounded by loved ones in the time leading to her death.

Sandy was born on May 18, 1945, to Gordon and Agnes (Pribyl) Warner in Mankato. She graduated from Waterville High School in Waterville, in 1963.

In 1968, Sandy married James Beede, and together they had three children: Keith, Jeff and Melissa.

Sandy worked for the Steele County Sheriff’s Department for over 30 years. Because she was social and dedicated to her work, some say she never truly retired.

Sandy loved many things, including gardening and her flowers, especially roses. She was an animal lover to her core, and loved spending time with her horses, many indoor and outdoor cats, and multiple pet huskies. She was a talented singer and musician, skilled in playing the piano and saxophone. Most of all, she loved to attend any and all of her grandchildren’s concerts, plays, and sporting events.

Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon and Agnes; mother-in-law, Evelyn; and brother, Terry.

She is survived by her husband, James Beede; her children, Keith, Jeff (Nikki), Melissa (Russ); grandchildren Jackson, Braxton, Andrew (Natalie), Benton, Bradley, Brayden, Chloe, and Bowen; and her sister, Deanna, brother, Micky along with many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Funeral service will be held at Brick-Meger Funeral Home, 1603 Austin Road, Owatonna on Monday, Sept. 29, 2025, at 1 p.m. Friends may greet the family beginning at 12 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Bohemian National Cemetery in Owatonna.

As a final demonstration of her love and thoughtfulness, Sandy planted her own flowers at home to be used for her funeral service.
