Shirley Anhorn, 84, Medford

Shirley A. Anhorn, of Medford, died Sept. 8, 2026, at the Owatonna Hospital.

Funeral is set for Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2026, at 11 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, 1301Lincoln Ave. SE, Owatonna. Friends may greet the family on Monday, Sept. 14, 2026, from 4-7 p.m. at the Medford Funeral Home, 310 – East Central Ave., and one hour prior to the funeral service Tuesday at St. John Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery in Owatonna.

Shirley was born on July 27, 1942, in Faribault, the daughter of Lloyd V. and Mary F. (Irving) Wheeler. Shirley attended school in Medford.

She married Robert J. Anhorn on June 28, 1958, at St. John Lutheran Church in Owatonna. The couple made their home in Medford. Along with her husband Bob, the couple ran Anhorn’s Gas and Tire in Medford. The gas station remains in the family since 1949.

Her life interests include Bingo at the Brooks and spending time with her family.

Shirley is survived by Robert G. (Darnell) Anhorn of Elysian, MN, Pamela J. (Ronald) Elzen of Medford, and John T. (Cindy) Anhorn of Medford; 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; sister Barbara (Darwin) Kasper, brother Vernon (Diane) Wheeler, and brother-in-law Curt Yule, all of Medford; and sister-in-law Janet Finne of Owatonna.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert J. Anhorn, sister Phyllis Yule, and brother James (Jaccie) Wheeler.
