Stephen Chadwick, 77, formerly of Owatonna
A life well-lived, a legacy cherished
Stephen John Chadwick of Clearwater Lake, Beltrami County, Minn., formerly of Owatonna, died Saturday, Aug. 30, 2025, at his home surrounded by his wife and loved ones. Steve was 77 years old.
Steve was born Oct. 15, 1947, to Jack and Cecelia (Dee) (Greenwald) of Owatonna. Steve was raised with an older sister (Coni), a younger sister (Judy), and three younger brothers Van, Paul, and David.
Steve graduated from Marian High School in Owatonna in 1966. Steve began his construction career with Jacobson and Casey Construction in Owatonna which later became Casey and Grosebeck Construction. Steve went out on his own, creating Chadwick Masonry. Steve retired in 2009 due to health issues.
Steve was united in marriage with Jean Todahl on June 13, 1970, at Sacred Heart Church in Owatonna. Together they raised two daughters, Michelle (Mikki), and Bridget.
Steve was a master pool player, avid fisherman, meticulous home remodeler, deer and bear hunter, and a feeder of all wildlife at the lake.
Steve is survived by loved ones who will forever hold him close in spirit, his wife Jean of 55 years; daughters, Mikki (Mark), and Bridget; grandchildren, Cole, Alleigh (Alex) Moe, Zoe, and Jack; great grandchildren, Brantley, Londyn, Cohen, and Nova. Siblings, Coni (Bill) Rodgers, Van (Barb), Paul, Judy (Dennis) Jirele and David (Jo Lynn); brother-in-law Gerry (Vicki) Todahl, Jim and Jon Todahl, and sister-in-law Janita (Brian) Paulson. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, nephew and godson, Christopher Rodgers, mother and father-in-law Claire and Arlyn Todahl, and brother-in-law Jay Todahl.
Private family service will be held at a later date. Interment will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Owatonna.
