Steven Polkow, 74, Owatonna

Steven Roland Polkow, 74, of Owatonna, died Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2023, at his home.

He was born Feb. 24, 1949 in Springfield, Minn., the son of Roland and Inez (Bergum) Polkow. He graduated from Springfield High School in 1967 and Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall in 1971.

Steven was united in marriage to Linda Rouge on July 7, 1988 in Las Vegas. The couple made their home in Owatonna.

Steven “Polkey” worked as an agronomist in the Marshall, Lake Benton and Owatonna area. In retirement, Polkey drove transport for Harry Brown and worked at Cabela’s. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Owatonna.

In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, daytime road trips in the country looking at the crops and especially enjoyed spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Polkow of Owatonna; son, Todd (Allie) Polkow of Easton; daughters, Sara (Sam) Van Moer of Burnsville and Hope (Randy) Rouge of Owatonna; grandchildren, Jordan (Austin) Carlson, Avery Polkow, Levi Henderson, Nolan Polkow and Ada Van Moer; great-grandson, Braxtin Carlson and siblings, Judy (Richard) Pauling, Jean Polkow, Dean Polkow and Jill (Tim) Vogel.

He was preceded in death by parents, Roland and Inez; brother, Daniel; maternal grandparents, Selmer and Thea Bergum and paternal grandparents, John and Louise Polkow.

Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Monday, Nov. 6 from 4-7 p.m. and at Trinity Lutheran Church on Tuesday from 10-11 a.m. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Owatonna with the Rev. Todd Buegler officiating. Interment will be at a later date in Lake Benton.
