BREAKING NEWS: Arrest made in Owatonna Bank Robbery

Owatonna Police have made an arrest in a bank robbery Tuesday afternoon at US Bank in downtown Owatonna.
Matthew Dahl, 33, of Faribault was taken into custody less than two hours after the alleged robbery. Police arrested him at the Steele County Fairgrounds Park on 18thStreet Southeast without incident. He remains in custody awaiting formal charges.
Officers responded to the robbery at 2:11 p.m. at the US Bank at 132 W. Broadway. According to police, a single white man entered the bank, handed the teller a note that demanded money. The note referred to a gun; however, a weapon was never displayed. The teller provided the money and the suspect fled the scene.
Surveillance photos of the suspect were disseminated to Owatonna officers and statewide officials. An Owatonna police officer was able to positively identify the suspect from the surveillance photos.
This case remains under investigation by Owatonna Police and the Federal Bureau of Investigations.
