Karen Jorgensen is a graduate of Owatonna High School and the University of Minnesota School of Journalism and Mass Communication.

Since graduating from the U of M, she has worked for weekly newspapers in Lakeville and Burnsville; West Allis, Wis.; Bethesda, Md. and Monroe, N.Y. She has worked on daily papers in Plano and McKinney, Texas.

She currently lives in rural Steele County with her dachshund, Frankie, and three cats, Sandy, Pouncy and Harold.
